Cell phone text messaging and sensing technology make it possible for visitors’ interests and the real time movement of the nearby Los Angeles River, the Metro Gold Line trains and traffic on Broadway to be combined into a dynamic exploration of the forces that shaped the evolution of the city. By sending text messages to the system, each night participants will collectively create an interactive audio-visual timeline reflecting the complex layered nature of the city`s historical development and its cultural identity.
